Combustion Triangle

In order to understand why a fire extinguisher is required one must first understand the elements necessary to sustain a fire. This is commonly referred to as the combustion triangle in the in the fire safety industry.

Fire occurs when the three elements in the combustion triangle occur at once, and they can be extinguished by removing one of the three elements.
